We have recently added a brand new sweeper to our fleet. This 16 tonne Renault comes with the very latest technology from Bucher (was Johnston) Sweepers. The V65 model is equipped with duel sweep technology, wander vacuum and a high-pressure water system to help wash as well as sweep, ensuring a great finish. It is an ideal tool for cleaning new builds, car parks and litter collecting.

As many of our regular customers were aware we had to shut down our own plant over the Christmas break and nearly New Year to make way for our brand new Wet Batch Plant. This new conveyor and mixing unit supplied by Dan Foss is state of the art technology which provides consistent mixes every time. The main difference to the old plant is that the new plant now mixes the concrete ready for use as opposed to the mixer truck doing the work. The benefit of this is the customer can pick up a load of concrete without having to wait for a vehicle. This reduces wear and tear on mixer trucks and due to the technology is a greener way of making concrete.

With COVID still and the forefront of everyone’s mind no one was sure whether truck shows would be happening this year.

However with exceptional planning from the event operators the shows have started to happen.

Over the last 2 weekends our guys have been busy polishing up their lorries to show at both the Wessex and Devon Truck show and yet again they have got them looking their finest with Tanks and wheels so shiny that you can see your reflection in them.

As well as our old ERF which was introduced 6 years ago for our 50^th anniversary we now have revealed our latest reconditioned Volvo FL10. This was shown and received a highly commended award at Wessex show.

We still have a few finishing touches to get the old girl into true Evans Transport memorabilia but good things come to those who wait.

Today the 8th May 2020 is the 75th anniversary of VE day (Victory in Europe).

It is a time to remember all those who served for us in WWII so we could have a better future. Here at Evans Transport we have supported our driver Richard from our Bulk Haulage (who also undertakes a lot charity work for the Braunton Royal Bristish Legion) by redecorating the truck he drives with poppy memorabilia and the important dates of VE Day and VJ Day.

Richard should have been showing this at local events however due current coronavirus lockdown all event have been cancelled. Have a look at the pictures of what Richard has had applied (thanks to double Print signs).

As it is a bank holiday why not raise a glass so we remember and give thanks to all serviceman who have past, present and future, put their lives first to protect us and our country.

We recently took delivery of 3 new artic brick and block cranes. The trailers have all been provided by Montracon and the cranes have been supplied from Hiab and Palfinger. These cranes can quite easily lift a pack of bricks at a reach of about 7m. All the trailers have come with a retractable curtain sides supplied by TWR Bodybuilders of Cullompton featuring the full Evans Transport livery. This unique system enables a faster unload and loading system for the drivers.

We are pleased to announce that the Evans Group have recently bought Hicks Logistics of Caldicot, South Wales.

Nigel Evans has said that he is excited for the opportunity as he believes that Hicks Logistics is a great fit with both Evans and Seymour Transport. Hicks Logistics is comprised of two sections, General Transport and low loaders for specialised Powered Access vehicles.

We are now able to offer you all of our usual services as well the use of low-loaders.

In the last couple of weeks, two new Mirrorless Trucks have been added to our Seymour fleet which bring a variety of advantages. Mercedes have commented on these Mirrorless trucks saying that they have seen great improvements in aspects such as efficiency and safety. The conventional main mirrors have been replaced with digital cameras which provide a much better all-round view. These cameras are calibrated with the trailer length to provide better visibility at all times. As well as improved safety, the digital cameras bring aerodynamic advantages such as a reduction in fuel consumption. This truck goes over and above as it brings more advantages than just the MirrorCam , including the Active Drive Assist and the Active Brake Assist. Fantastic additions to the Seymour Transport fleet.

Some of our drivers made their way to the South West Truck Show at the end of August for a fun filled weekend.

Despite it being a social weekend, they all put a lot of hard work in to make their trucks look sparkling for the competitions. To top it off, Evans Transport were given three awards including 3^rd place for best kept classic truck (1971-1995).

It is great to see so many of our drivers getting together for weekends like these, and from what we hear, it was a great weekend had by all those attended!

A fantastic celebration of trucks and drivers. As you can see from the pictures supplied by Matt Stewart the drivers spend hours preparing the trucks so that they look their absolute best.

The event sees thousands of trucks, drivers and their families gather together to celebrate the industry along with high speed truck racing, action shows and live music.
A great time was had by all. Well done guys.

Evans Transport recently had a lorry feature in the video produced to celebrate the RHA's 75th Anniversary.
Nine trucks were involved and all looked fantastic on a bright sunny day on the M96 motorway training ground.

So today is the day that a local family get handed back their home from the BBC DIY SOS team.
Two little girls will now have a state of the art home dialysis unit to make life a whole lot easier for them and their parents.
Traveling backwards and forwards to Bristol has been no easy task for this family so now they will have more time together enjoying the things that all little girls should be enjoying. We wish them well for the future and hope they enjoy their new look home. 

We are very proud to have been a small part of this project, alongside many other local companies, by donating 6m + of concrete for the build. The concrete was delivered on our smallest lorry which is capable of carrying 4m at a time. This is perfect for getting into tight spaces as well assisting the larger vehicles on bigger pours. On Sunday the Devon Air Ambulance Motorcycle Ride Out started from the Evans Transport depot in Bideford.
There was a good turnout of a varity of motorcycles. The ridout met up with another group from Newton Abbott and they all finished at The Den in Teignmouth.
It's always great to see such support for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. "Real People Saving Real Lives".
Well done to everyone who turned out on such a glorious day.

This year Ian, Richard and Simon gave up their time to take part of the south west children’s convoy which takes children and their carers from Bude to the Milky way for a fun day out.

The event is organised by South West Truckers and sees many Lorries running up the A39.

Sunday April 28th was the day when all the winter training and fundraising came together and Laura took on a challenge most of us would run away from.

As you will probably know already Mum, Sue, has been battling breast cancer and has been supported by Breast Cancer Care along the way. As a thank you for all their care and advice Laura decided to take part in the Virgin Money London Marathon 2019 to raise much needed funds for such a vital service.

With lots of supporters cheering her on Laura completed the marathon in 5 hours 44 minutes but she actually managed to run further than most completing 31 miles! Talk about making the most of your day!

After collecting her precious medal she was reunited with her family and supporters to enjoy a well earned glass of prosecco.

At the time of writing this Lauras Just Giving page total stands at a massive £11,464.00. This has only been possible because of the support of many friends and family and she's incredibly grateful to you all.

Evans Transport have teamed up with the Honest Truth Campaign and Devon and Cornwall Police Crime Commissioner to try and help make the roads safer.

Full backdoor images have been placed on the rear of trailers and vehicles with simple messages to promote road safety.

The messages are trying to reiterate that undertaking these actions could result in death on the road.

With people having to follow our vehicles on major roads we are hoping they will see these messages and it will sink in and make them think twice before putting their lives and the lives of others at risk.

Evans Transport have a new DAF truck this week. This is the first 19 plate truck we have received and the first DAF XF truck we have had since 2006.

The DAF XF is the space cab with the latest 480hp Euro 6 engine and we have four more on order and coming soon!

This particular one has been based on our Pallet Operation this truck is expected to hit 1 million KM within the next 4 years.

On Saturday Evans Transport were match ball sponsors for the game between Exeter Chiefs and Newcastle Falcons.

It was a great game seeing The Chiefs bring home a win of 35 - 17.
