At Evans Transport's state-of-the-art sand batching plant at Headon near Ivybridge, South Devon, we transform raw feed material into a variety of high-quality sand products. Here's a detailed look at our process:

1. Raw Feed Material Intake:

We begin by receiving raw feed material, which is then loaded into our sand plant's feed hopper.

2. Incline Belt and Screening:

The raw material is conveyed to the incline belt, which transports it to the screener. The screener separates the material into different size fractions:

0-2mm sand – Golf courses, building sand, concrete plants, bedding sand and horse arena sand
0-4mm sand – Concrete plants, screed and plastering
1-4mm grit – brick paving and patio’s, for laying pipes and cables
2-6mm gravel – pipe bedding, concrete blocks and used in compost mixes
Oversize – as a fill, hardcore or drainage stone
20mm all in – concrete mix/ballast

That’s why we have invested heavily in our Builders yard, ensuring that we have the resources and capabilities to load our Crane vehicles with a variety of materials, including sand and aggregate, bricks, and blocks.

Our yard is a hive of activity, as hauliers we make sure that the vehicles and trailers are loaded to the highest of standards. We take great pride in making sure that the material is loaded safely and securely, and that the contents are protected during the journey. We use a variety of loading tools, including forklifts and cranes, this ensures loading is carried out quickly and efficiently.

Our experienced staff also ensure that the vehicles are loaded in the most cost-effective manner, helping to reduce transport costs for the customer as well as providing CO2 savings. We understand that each client has different requirements, and we make sure that we tailor our service to their individual needs.

At Evans Transport, we understand that delivering goods is about more than just transporting them from A to B. We strive to provide the highest quality of service, from loading to delivery. We’re proud of our Builders yard, and we’re committed to making sure that our clients receive the highest level of service.

As of the 5th of March the Appledore sand yard will be closed for all collections all sand and aggregates will now be stocked at the Bideford depot along with all cements and the ability to get ready mixed concrete.

We will also have a greater stock of handy bag and dumpy bags and concrete blocks available which can be collected.

We can also arrange delivery of all of the above.

From our Gammaton Road site situated East of the Water we have available our full range of aggregates BAGGED for collection or delivery. Supported by bulk container deliveries, the introduction of CRANE OFFLOAD facilities allows us flexible deliveries to varied building venues requiring DUMPY OR HANDY BAGS.

Here at Evans Transport we have increased our fleet with the addition of an ISUZU 7.5 tonne tipper lorry.

With the ability to carry 3.5 tonne of sands and aggregates, this unit allows for extreme flexibility when delivering into restricted areas. This specific lorry offers added value by having drop sides, this will allow for side loading and fork lift removal if required on site.
