Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable – Maternity Cover
Evans Transport Ltd are a well- established Family Company with a great reputation locally for paying suppliers on time. We are a friendly, fast-paced and busy environment and we look for dedicated staff to grow and evolve with the business.
We are looking for a thorough individual with purchase ledger / accounts payable experience to join our strong, fast paced Accounts team. Your role would be to ensure accurate processing of invoices and account reconciliation, whilst working within the Purchase Ledger team to achieve department deadlines.
Reporting to the Group Accountant and Finance Director
Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices and credits.
- Release invoices in preparation for payment.
- Interaction with relevant department / supplier to resolve queries.
- Proactive query management and resolution for supplier accounts.
- Ensure correct paperwork is received to meet VAT rules and regulations.
- Ensure accuracy and self-checking of work.
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements within deadlines.
- Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details.
- Ensure files are maintained in line with current procedure.
- Support colleagues ensuring the department is working as a team to have all accounts up to date and accurate.
- Working to monthly deadlines set within procedures.
- Other duties as reasonably required from time to time.
Person Requirements
- Good Purchase ledger experience 1 year plus
- Experience of dealing with high volumes in a busy environment
- High number of data inputting
- Office administration experience
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and computer literate
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational & interpersonal skills
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Meticulous and methodical; working with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail under pressure
- Ability to prioritise
- Team player
Pay: Salary dependant on experience
Weekly hours: 37.50 per week – Full time Monday to Friday

HGV Mechanic Maidstone
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our vehicle maintenance workshop in Aylesford Kent. Work is undertaken on both own and customer vehicles and trailers including PMI, MOT, Servicing Fabrication and refurbishment, Diagnostics, Engine Work and Hydraulics. Pay will be subject to level of experience.
Seymour Transport has a 4 bay fully equipped workshop. The company is part of the ET Holdings group who own Evans Transport Ltd and Hicks Logistics. It has been running over 50 years and is still very much a family company with 3 generations of family actively involved in the business.

Key Skill Requirements for HGV Technician
- Level 3 city and guilds qualification in HGV mechanics (or equivalent)
- Own hand tools required
- Possess basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Have a reason able level of fitness
- Presentable, good attitude and polite.
- Be able to use technology such as tablets for digital capture
- HGV class 2 minimum
- Understanding of diagnostic equipment - benefit but not essential
- Fabrication and refurbishment skills - benefit but not essential
- Hydraulic skills
- Engine knowledge - benefit but not essential

HGV Class 2 driver
We are looking for an HGV class 2 driver to join our general Haulage on a full-time basis.
Drivers will be expected to carry out deliveries from our Caldicot depot across the country, the position will have the possibility for nights out
Hicks Logistics is part of the ET Holdings group. The company has been running for over 50 years and is still very much a family company with 3 generations of the Evans family actively involved in the business. The business is run from various depots around the country and comprises over 250 trucks and trailers

Key Task Requirements For HGV Drivers
- Deliver customer's goods in a professional and friendly manner
- Ensure the most direct truck-friendly route is taken
- Ensure the vehicle is safe and fit to be on the road by carrying out adequate daily checks.
- Ensure the goods are handled with care and are correctly secured to the vehicle.
- Work within the tachograph and working time directive laws
- Ensure all PODs are captured accurately
- Able to work on own initiative and part of a team
- Report any issues effectively and promptly to management
- Be able to work to a productive nature.
Qualifications and Skills For HGV driver
Key Skill Requirements for Driver
- Full driving licence with C vocation
- In-date driver CPC and digital tachograph
- Sound geographical knowledge of the local area and be able to use a road atlas.
- Posses good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Have a reasonable level of fitness
- Presentable, good attitude and polite.
- Tail lift experience benefits but is not essential
- Moffett ticket preferred but not essential
