Evans Transport is proud to have provided the vehicle for the Xplosion Dance and Cheer group to perform on during the Bideford Carnival. The group, which consists of children of all ages, put on a spectacular performance, and Evans Transport was delighted to be able to help them make it happen.

The truck was driven by Richard Palmer, who has been with Evans Transport for two and a half years. Richard takes a lot of pride in his vehicle, and it showed at the carnival. The truck was beautifully decorated, and Richard was a great ambassador for Evans Transport.

Richard has also won three commendations at recent truck shows for how well he looks after his vehicle. These are:

• 1st – Devon truck show in May – highly commended
• 2nd – Cornwall truck show in July – highly commended
• 3rd – Truckfest South west September – highly commended

Evans Transport is a local company that is committed to supporting the local community. Evans Transport have teamed up with the Honest Truth Campaign and Devon and Cornwall Police Crime Commissioner to try and help make the roads safer.

Full backdoor images have been placed on the rear of trailers and vehicles with simple messages to promote road safety.

The messages are trying to reiterate that undertaking these actions could result in death on the road.

With people having to follow our vehicles on major roads we are hoping they will see these messages and it will sink in and make them think twice before putting their lives and the lives of others at risk.

This week we had 2 vehicles go into Severn Park Fire and Rescue Training Centre.

We were asked by the training centre if a couple of lorries could be provided for firefighters to look around and understand the layout of them better so they are more prepared to deal with truck related emergencies.

There was a good deal of interaction between the firefighters and drivers with both parties learning more about each other profession.

The trucks and drivers were provided free of charge to the training centre as the company saw this as a worthy cause.

On May 1st 2016 - 72 cyclists took on the tough North Devon 100 cycle challenge including Evans Transport own driver  (Cinders). Evans transport has supported the ride from its very inception, a one off event called Le Tour De Devon.

This year the event raised £4500, which will be split between The Chestnut Appeal, a prostate cancer charity based at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and Combe Martin Football Club.

The club has held the event from the first ride and is in much need of modernisation.

So far the ride has raised over £22,000 for various charities such as Help for Heroes, Devon Air Ambulance and North Devon Hospice.

"The North Devon 100 is very greatful for the support that Evans Transport has given us over the last 4 years and we hope it will continue for the foreseeable future."

Sponsoring the best in Christmas show Dairy Heifer class, John Evans presented the awards to their owners at this year’s event.

The Evans Transport Chairman and founder is also seen with the judges and auctioneers at the show, held at the Holsworthy Cattle Market on Wednesday 9th December.

Evans Transport are supporting Richard Hughes from "Gingerweb Ltd" our Website team in his London Marathon run in April 2016.

Richard is running for the Caudwell Children charity who double every penny donated to them, so its a great cause and an opportunity to help children all over the country.

Richard is seen here pictured with Noah Wall who was the recipient of his fine new electric wheelchair at the weekend that will change his life. The chair was 80% paid for by Caudwell Childrens Charity which is why Richard chose them to raise money for. He hopes to put as much as possible back into the Caudwell coffers with sponsorship for the big run.

Two weekends in a row saw Evans Transport lorries pulling decorated floats through the towns of Bideford and Barnstaple.

Supporting local community charities both Bideford Rugby Club and The North Devon Journal (pictured) utilised full sized trailers turning them into highly colourful floats enjoyed by the local crowds.

Evans Transport have been confirmed as the main sponsors for the Community Awards for the second year running.

Nigel Evans managing director confirmed their commitment to the awards in a press release to the main hosts North Devon Journal in last week’s copy.
