By having a regular replacement program we are able to invest in the latest engine technology. The ongoing development of engines help to produce lower carbon and nitrous oxide emissions and improve fuel consumption meaning less fossil fuels are burnt.
Many of our trucks are also equipped with engine shut down to turn off of a vehicle if left running again helping to reduce our carbon footprint. Where possible we try and ensure our office energy comes from green sources suppliers and utilise green energy devices such as solar panels on our warehouse roofs.
We offer our employees use of the cycle to work scheme and many of the company cars are fitted with hybrid technology.
Training
Here at Evans Transport, by complying with the latest driving laws, we are investing for all our drivers to participate in all the necessary courses to complete their Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Compliance) training.
All our drivers are fully inducted and provided the correct PPE required for the job.
This enables our drivers to be fully (instructed/aware) in the use of the flexible range of vehicles in our fleet of over 150 lorries, as well as keeping them up to date with the latest driver rules and regulations, load securities and more.
Regular bulletins and advice is sent to drivers to update them on industry news or health and safety requirements to ensure a safe and secure delivery.
Technology
All our vehicles are fitted with Track and trace ability with a full telematics package. This enables us to look a Driver KPI such as harsh braking, cornering and Engine Idle. By working with the drivers we can help reduce fuel consumption and reduce accidents.
Our back office systems have capability to record plenty of information which can be sent directly to the drivers mobile device.
This ensures they have all the information require to ensure hassle free collections and deliveries. On top of this the mobile device is able to capture POD information and digital signatures which through our customer portal can be accessed immediately after delivery.
Customers can also access the tracking portal to find out exactly how there delivery is getting on.
