Toby Evans Crowned Level 3 HGV Mechanic Apprentice of the Year!

Toby Evans Apprentice of the yearWe are absolutely thrilled to announce that our very own Toby Evans was awarded Level 3 HGV Mechanic Apprentice of the Year at a prestigious ceremony last night! John Kemp and a representative from Evans Transport were there to see Toby pick up this fantastic accolade.

Toby's dedication and hard work since joining us have been truly outstanding. His eagerness to tackle any challenge and his adaptable nature have consistently impressed everyone at Evans Transport.

What Makes Toby Stand Out?

Seb Sanders and John Kemp from Evans Transport shared their pride:

"Toby has been incredibly keen to get stuck into any job since the day he started, always happy for a challenge. He joined us from a local bus company, so he's had to adapt to HGVs, which he's taken to very well, gaining valuable experience along the way. He's fitted into the team perfectly, and we're sure he'll continue to learn and gain valuable experience."

His line managers, Rosie Carpenter and Jeremy Bromfield, Automotive Skills Officers at Exeter College, also had high praise for Toby:

"We are proud to present this award to Toby in recognition of his outstanding dedication, progress, and professionalism throughout both the Level 2 Autocare and Level 3 HGV courses. Toby’s learning journey has not been without its challenges – notably making a seamless transition from bus and coach to HGV maintenance and repair following a change of employer. This would have unsettled many, but Toby approached it with maturity, adaptability, and characteristic determination."

They further highlighted Toby's exceptional qualities:

"Toby has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a high level of self-directed learning. His thoughtful approach to his studies and his quiet determination to improve have been evident to all who work with him. He actively seeks feedback, engages deeply with both practical and theory work, and is always active in deepening his knowledge, not just in the hands-on aspects of his trade, but also in the wider compliance and management responsibilities that come with a career in the HGV sector. Toby is also a highly valued peer. Always willing to support others, he has earned the respect of his classmates and contributes positively to group dynamics with insight and good humour."

"Feedback from his line manager has been consistently excellent, and we wholeheartedly echo that sentiment. Toby is a credit to himself, his training provider, and his employer, and we look forward to seeing all that he goes on to achieve in the future. Well done, Toby!"

We couldn't be prouder of Toby's achievements and are excited to see his continued growth and success within the Evans Transport team. Well done, Toby!
