    Key Responsibilities Safely operate and drive Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) according to the C+E license requirements. Ensure timely delivery of goods to various destinations, adhering to the schedule and route plans. Conduct pre-use and post-use inspections of the vehicle to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues in accordance with the DVSA standards Load and unload freight in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations. Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes, logbooks, and any other relevant documentation most of which will be captured by electronic devices Maintain effective communication with the dispatch team and customers to provide updates on delivery status. Follow all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Represent Evans Transport professionally, always demonstrating excellent customer service & keeping trucks in a clean and professional state.

    Qualifications and Skills Experience: Proven experience as an HGV mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engines and air systems. Certification: Relevant certifications in vehicle maintenance and repair (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance). Technical Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software. (preferred) Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure all work is performed to the highest standards. Internal combustion engine knowledge preferred but not essential Experience in Hydraulics & rams preferred Welding / Fabrication of benefit but not essential HGV Licence of benefit but not essential.
